Testing a camera for use on Mars. Researcher testing an interactive viewing system for a camera being used at FMARS,the Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station. FMARS,located in the Canadian Arctic,is one of several Mars simulation programs run by the international Mars Society. The aim is to test equipment and habitat designs in harsh conditions like those found on Mars,and to observe the effect on human crews. This system integrates a portable camera with an interactive viewing system worn on the head. The reflection shows another researcher at work inside the habitation module. Work at FMARS is carried out over several months in the Arctic summer. Several missions have been completed since the project began in 2000
