15th Century astronomy. An astronomical clock dating from about 1490. The clock takes 24 hours to complete one rotation, and is less than clear at telling the time. It does, however, reveal the position of the Sun and Moon relative to the twelve houses of the zodiac, and other information vital to the astrological art. Below the clock face is a circular panel,on which are depicted the months of the year in allegorical form, with adjacent representations of the signs of the zodiac.
