Harvesting red deer egg cells. Two veterinary surgeons harvesting ova (egg cells) from a red deer hind (Cervus elaphus) for in vitro fertilisation. The ova will be fertilised with sperm and the resulting zygote grown in a lab until it reaches an early stage of embryonic development. It will then be implanted in the hind's uterus.
