It is attached to a fallopian tube (white,left),one of the channels linking the ovaries to the uterus. Although many cysts are benign (non-cancerous),they can cause discomfort or reproductive dysfunction. If this is the case,they may be removed by keyhole surgery of the abdomen (laparoscopy)
