Uterine cancer. Light micrograph of malignant cytotrophoblastic cells from the endometrium wall of the human uterus. The cells are abnormally enlarged and of erratic shapes, with huge cellular (dark pink-stained) nuclei and very little cytoplasm. Cytotrophoblastic cells are found in the lining of an embryo. These cells remain separate from the maternal cells and form part of the placenta. This is an example of choriocarcinoma,an extremely rare, very malignant type of tumour which is found in the uterus and occasionally at the site of an ectopic pregnancy. Papanicolaou stained cells.
