Model released. Minimally-invasive ("keyhole") surgery: surgeons checking the X-rays of a patient who has undergone cholecystectomy, the removal of the gallbladder,by minimally-invasive techniques. One of the surgeons is pointing towards the inflamed gallbladder. The other X-ray was taken after its removal. In this case a laser technique was used and the X-rays show the devices which were introduced within the body for the operation. Cholecystectomy is usually performed to treat severe inflammations of the gallbladder which are often triggered by the presence of gallstones | |
