Example of tongue-tie,a congenital condition also known as ankyloglossia. It is a minor defect of the mouth in which the frenulum,the band of tissue attaching the tongue to the floor of the mouth,is too short and extends forwards to the tip of the tongue. There are usually no symptoms other than limited movements and small distortions of the tongue. In rare cases the condition causes a speech defect,in which case a minor operation is required to divide the frenulum
