Keloids are fibrous overgrowths of scar tissue that form following an injury,in this case radiation burns to the skin. The US atomic bomb that destroyed Hiroshima was detonated on 6th August 1945 during World War II. At least 80,000 people died and many thousands were injured and left permanently disfigured.
