MODEL RELEASED. Sweet's disease. Papule on the skin of a 55-year- old female patient,caused by Sweet's disease,also known as acute fibrile neutrophilic dermatosis. The papule is erythematous,meaning that there is a concentration of blood capillaries in the skin. The papules are usually situated on the face,neck and arms. Although it can occur alone,Sweet's disease is often associated with haematologic diseases,for example leukaemia,and immunologic diseases,for example rheumatoid arthritis and irritable bowel disease. The condition is more common in women from their mid- to-late fifties onwards. Treatment with corticosteroids is usually successful | |
