A red rash has completely infected the patient's swollen left eye and forehead. The rash has formed yellow blisters,teeming with viruses,which are now drying and forming a dark crust. This rash is extremely painful & is due to Herpes infecting the sensory nerves serving the face. Shingles is caused by the chickenpox virus: varicella-zoster.
