MODEL RELEASED. Preputial adhesions indicating phimosis. At birth most boys have their foreskin (prepuce) attached to their glans with preputial adhesions. These then normally separate over the first five years of life. In a small percentage of cases this does not happen and treatment - ranging from circumcision to the application of cream to dissolve the adhesions - is required. This condition is known as phimosis and can lead to the related disorder balanitis - infection and inflammation of the glans and foreskin | |
