MODEL RELEASED. Intradermal naevus on the skin of a 36-year-old man. The raised swelling is pinker than the surrounding skin. An intradermal naevus is a type of mole (pigmented naevus) produced by abnormal clustering of pigment cells (melanocytes) in the skin. Like other moles they are harmless (benign),but can in very rare cases become cancerous (malignant). Moles usually develop during childhood or early adulthood.
