Median rhomboid glossitis is a diamond-shaped,elevated,inflammatory lesion along the midline of the tongue. It is thought to be caused by the yeast Candida albicans,which causes thrush. It is a benign condition but may cause discomfort and difficulty while eating and drinking. Treatment,when needed,is with anti- fungal drugs or,in severe cases,surgical removal of the lesion
