Armand Trousseau (1801-1867),French physician. Trousseau studied medicine at Tours under the guidance of Pierre Brettoneau,and later in the faculty of medicine in Paris. He investigated various epidemics in southern France and Gibraltar,before settling in Paris around 1830. During his career,he worked at various hospitals including the Hotel-Dieu. Trousseau was an expert clinician and teacher. He is credited with introducing the technique of tracheotomy to Paris in 1837.
