Guillaume Dupuytren (1777-1835),French surgeon (dressed in black),with King Charles X of France (1757-1836,right) during a tour of the Hotel-Dieu hospital,Paris,France. Dupuytren was appointed assistant surgeon here in 1803,and rose to become head surgeon by 1815. Charles X was King of France from 1824 until the revolution in 1830.
