Mathew B. Brady (1823-1896),US Civil War photographer. Brady is famous for his large collection of photographs taken during the US Civil War (1861-1865). He had his own photographic studio by 1844,and worked with many of the early types of photographs,such as daguerrotypes,ambrotypes,albumen prints and cartes de visite. He and his team of photographers took travelling darkrooms to battlefields around the USA,bringing the stark reality of the Civil War to the American public.
