| DNA gel analysis. Researcher examines an agarose gel containing DNA fragments using Ultra-Violet (UV) light. The DNA fragments have been stained with ethidium bromide and are seen as fluorescent violet bands on the gel (at lower right). The researcher is wearing a mask to protect his face from the UV light and gloves to protect his hands from the highly carcinogenic ethidium bromide.
