The predominant tree species here is myrtle (Nothofagus cunninghamii),with other important trees including the King Billy pine,Sassafras,Celery-top pine,and Huon pine. Temperate rainforests are found on the western seaboards of land masses in temperate regions where there is abundant,year round rain- fall. They occur in regions such as the Pacific northwest of North America,Valdivian rainforest in Chile,Tasmania,southeast of Victoria in Australia,southwest of South Island in New Zealand.
