Ulvik fjord or Hardangerfjord, the second largest fjord in Norway. Fjords form when glacial valleys or troughs become flooded due to a rise in sea level. They are typically long and narrow, confined between steep hill or mountain sides, and very deep, often in excess of 1000 metres. This fjord is on the edge of the Hardangervidda National Park, which preserves the largest mountain plateau in Europe | |
