Dinosaur eggs. Group of fossilised eggs laid by a Hadrosaur,a type of duck-billed dinosaur,in a nest. These round,hand-sized,dinosaur eggs are well-preserved showing fragments of the outer shell. Remarkably they did not suffer serious breakage as they were covered with sediment millions of years ago. Fossilisation and mineralisation processes then transformed the outer shell and its inner contents into solid rock. These eggs from the Jurassic Period (135-200 million years ago) were discovered in the Henan Basin,China | |
