Homo ergaster skull. This skull was found at Koobi Fora in Kenya,and is thought to be around 1.7 million years old. H. ergaster is usually considered to be an early African type of Homo erectus,which was the most widespread of the hominids (relatives of humans) apart from modern humans. Fossils have been found throughout Asia,Europe and Africa. H. erectus lived between 1.8- 0.3 million years ago. This skull,classified as KNM ER 3733,is thought to be that of an adult female.
