Stone tool. Ancient palaeolithic stone tool from the hominid (early human) Acheulean culture. This chisel-like burin tool is thought to have been used for engraving or carving bone,wood and soft stone. The tools of the Acheulean culture were advanced compared to other hominid tools of the time,and are thought to have been made by the early human species Homo erectus,and by early Homo sapiens peoples.
