This small town is around 105 kilometres north of the Gulf of Mexico coast,but it is a poor area,and many buildings were destroyed and power lines were cut. Katrina was a category four hurricane when it hit the Gulf coast of the USA on 29th August 2005. It left a huge trail of damage and many hundreds lost their lives.
