Northern Party Antarctic explorers. British explorers George Murray Levick (left),Frank Browning (centre) and George Abbot (right) camping in snow in 1912 during the British Antarctic Expedition (1910-1913),also known as the Terra Nova Expedition. Led by Robert Falcon Scott,a shore party of 33 spent two seasons exploring on and around the Ross Ice Shelf. Scott and four others died in March 1912 on their return from the South Pole. The three expedition members camping here were part of the Northern Party that were away exploring from February 1911 to November 1912.
