Space Shuttle prototype testing. Prototype Space Shuttle Enterprise landing at Dryden Flight Research Center,California,USA. This is the conclusion of its fifth and final free-flight flight test after release from its 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA). The crew of two were astronauts Fred Haise and Gordon Fullerton. This test flight identified a phenomenon called pilot-induced oscillation. It was part of the Shuttle's Approach and Landing Tests (ALT) program,preparing for the first space mission with the Space Shuttle Columbia in April 1981.
