Heinz baked beans in Antarctica. Antarctic explorer sitting on crates of Heinz baked beans and spooning beans from an opened tin. This photograph was obtained during the British Antarctic Expedition (1910-1913). Also known as the Terra Nova Expedition,the primary expedition objectives were scientific. Heinz was one of several commercial companies that provided branded supplies. Led by Robert Falcon Scott,the shore party of 34 spent two seasons exploring on and around the Ross Ice Shelf.
