Marc Breedlove (born 1954),US neuroscientist, with photographs of human hands. He is analysing a range of samples of human hands and the relative lengths of the fingers, photographed as part of research into the causes of sexual orientation. These examples are hands of heterosexual and homosexual women. Breedlove has found that the average digit ratio varies between the two groups, suggesting that sexual orientation in women is in part determined by exposure to hormones such as testosterone in the womb before birth. Breedlove is professor of neuroscience at Michigan State University,East Lansing,USA. Photographed in 2013 | |
