Reign of Aztec ruler Tenoch. 17th-century Aztec picture story of the 51-year-reign of their 14th-century ruler Tenoch during the travels from Aztlan to Tenochtitlan where the Aztec Empire was founded. At centre is the prophecy of an eagle on a cactus. Each year is represented by the squares forming the border. The text at bottom names the ten founders of Tenochtitlan.
