Terra Nova Antarctic expedition. Expedition members in the wardroom of the Terra Nova sailing ship in December 1910 while travelling to Antarctica as part of the British Antarctic Expedition (1910-1913). Also known as the Terra Nova Expedition,the primary expedition objectives were scientific. Led by Robert Falcon Scott,a shore party of 33 spent two seasons exploring on and around the Ross Ice Shelf. In addition to the shore party,a ship party of around 32 sailed the ship,resupplied the shore party,and carried out research.
