Kepler 62e is an exoplanet around the star Kepler 62. It is the second outermost of five planets known to be orbiting this star,as discovered by the Kepler planet finder mission. The mission uses the transiting method to find planets. This infers the presence of planets around stars by the tiny dip in light levels observed when the planet pass in front of their host stars. Kepler 62e may be covered in oceans,as this scene imagines. The star Kepler 62 is 38 times more massive than the Earth but only 1.6 times its radius, making it an extremely dense world, quite possibly covered substantially in water | |
