Man with hypertrichosis. Sideshow circus exhibit Lionel,Half-Man Half-Lion,real name Stephan Bibrowski (1891-1932). It is thought he had the condition hypertrichosis. Also known as werewolf syndrome,this rare condition results in excessive hair growth over most of the body. From the age of four to around ten,Lionel was exhibited in Europe. In 1901,he began touring with the Barnum and Bailey Circus in the USA,settling in 1920 at Dreamland Circus Side Show,Coney Island,New York,USA.
