Clews and Chambers. US biologist Robert Chambers (right,1881-1957) with fellow researcher Clews. Chambers obtained his doctorate at the University of Munich. He worked at New York University between 1928 and 1947,moving there from Cornell University Medical College. His pioneering invention was of methods and equipment to carry out micromanipulation of cells. He used this equipment to dissect genetic material from a cell nucleus in 1912.
