Ross Granville Harrison (1870-1959),US biologist and anatomist. Harrison's early work was in embryology and marine biology. He also studied histology and physiology,and carried out pioneering work on artificial tissue cultures. He taught at Johns Hopkins University,and at Yale University,and also carried out work with the United States Fish Commission. He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 1913,and made a Foreign Member of the Royal Society in 1940.
