Upper Amazon rain-frog (Pristimantis altamazonicus). Members of this genus lay terrestrial eggs in damp places, such as under leaf litter, which hatch directly into froglets. They are independent of standing water,a successful adaptation which has led Pristimantis to be the largest vertebrate genus. Photographed at Jatun Sacha Reserve,Ecuador | |
