ISS in southern hemisphere skies. The diagonal line from centre right to lower left is the track of the International Space Station (ISS). The ISS orbits the Earth at a height of around 360 kilometres. It takes 92 minutes to complete an orbit,and has been crewed since October 2000. Also seen here are a band of the Milky Way (lower left),the Large Magellanic Cloud (upper centre),the Small Magellanic Cloud (upper right) and the bright star Canopus (near top left).
