Sneyd Davies (1709-1769),English poet. Davies studied at King's College,Cambridge,becoming a Fellow there in 1732,and attaining the Doctor of Divinity degree (D.D.) in 1759. His correspondents included Frederick Cornwallis and Charles Pratt. Davies was Archdeacon of Derby (1755-69) and a Canon Residentiary at Lichfield Cathedral. His poems,which are not collected in one place,appear in a number of collections.
