William Wollaston (1659-1724),English theologian,classical scholar and philosopher. Wollaston studied at Cambridge and then became a teacher followed by ordination as a priest. Independently wealthy,Wollaston spent most of his life in London with his wife and family,studying and writing on philosophy. His major work was 'The Religion of Nature Delineated' (1722) which greatly influenced 18th-century Enlightenment philosophy.
