Daniel Wray (1701-1783),English antiquarian. Wray was educated at Charterhouse School and then Queen's College,Cambridge. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Society (1729) and Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries (1741). Wray,who wrote on Ancient Greek history,had travelled extensively in Italy in his youth,and was a collector of rare books,was appointed a trustee of the British Museum in 1765.
