Honey bee pesticide research. Honey bee (Apis mellifera) with a radio frequency identification (RFID) chip (centre left) attached to its back being subjected to a pesticide. In this study honey bees are subjected to various pesticide doses. They are then released into an experimental beehive and their behaviour is compared to that of healthy bees. The chip is used to track the bee in order to study its behaviour. Photographed at the laboratory of the Association for Agricultural Technical Coordination (ACTA) | |
