Honey bee pesticide research. Honey bee (Apis mellifera) with a radio frequency identification (RFID) chip (centre left) attached to its back and two normal honey bees. This chip is used to track the bee in order to study its behaviour. In this study honey bees are subjected to various pesticide doses. They are then released into an experimental beehive and their behaviour is compared to that of healthy bees.
