College Green,Dublin. 19th-century artwork looking north-west at the Bank of Ireland building on the north side of College Green,Dublin,Ireland. Built from 1729,this building housed the Irish Parliament. The original domed chamber was destroyed by fire in the 1790s. Following the union of Ireland with the UK in 1800,the building was occupied by the Bank of Ireland from 1803 to the 1970s. In the foreground are gowned university students at the gates of Trinity College,Dublin. In the background at centre left is the equestrian statue of William III of England,erected in 1701.
