Muybridge motion study. Series of early photographs showing the motion of an athlete carrying out a walking leap over a hurdle. The consecutive images are numbered in order from 1 to 9 (upper left to lower right). These photographs were obtained by English photographer Eadweard J. Muybridge (1830-1904) in his pioneering work of 1878 and 1879,documenting the motion of animals. This work was carried out in Paulo Alto,California,USA.
