The aluminium Eros statue (actually depicting Anteros) was unveiled in 1893 on Regent Street,as part of the Shaftesbury Monument Memorial Fountain. The building in the background (the London Pavilion,1885) forms the corner between Shaftesbury Avenue (left) and Coventry Street (right).
