Lindbergh's ticker-tape parade. US aviation pioneer Charles Lindbergh (1902-1974,seated at rear of car without a hat) became the first person to make a solo,non-stop flight across the Atlantic from New York,USA,to Paris,France. His flight in his monoplane,The Spirit of St. Louis,began at 7:25am on 20 May 1927 and lasted 33 hours and 32 minutes. Lindbergh achieved overnight world-wide fame. With him on 13 June 1927,in New York City,USA,in an open car in top hats,are Mayor Jimmy Walker (1881-1946,seated next to Lindbergh) and Grover Whalen (1886-1962,centre).
