Supermoon and bright light. Supermoon of 6th May 2012 rising behind a street projector. A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth during its orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the moon's disk as seen from Earth. The artificial light (left) from the distance of about 50 meters is tens of times brighter than the supermoon in the sky. This amount of light pollution would make it hard for a spectator to see anything in the sky | |
