ANLAB colour space. This graphic represents a section through ANLAB colour space. This is the abbreviation for the Adams-Nickerson uniform colour space proposed by Elliot Quincy Adams and Dorothy Nickerson in the 1940s. Similar work on colour spaces was carried out by others, with a modification of the ANLAB colour space resulting in the 1976 CIELAB colour space from the International Commission on Illumination (CIE). The ANLAB colour space is an example of an L-a-b colour space, with dimension L for lightness, and dimensions a and b for colour dimensions. Graphic produced at the National Physical Laboratory,UK | |
