The Fairlop Oak,Hainault Forest,1800. 19th-century artwork showing a scene in 1800 at the large oak tree called the Fairlop Oak,in Hainault Forest,Essex,UK. A hunter by the tree has used a bow and arrow to kill a deer (lower left). The Fairlop Oak was thought to be at least 500 years old when it was blown down in 1820.
