Biometric Tunnel,gait recognition. Professor Mark Nixon walking through the Biometric Tunnel developed by his research team at the Electronics and Computer Science Department,University of Southampton,UK. This system uses data from 12 cameras to analyse an individual's walking pattern. This can be used to identify people with over 90 percent accuracy. This biometrics technique is being developed for applications in fighting crime and terrorism. It is a non-invasive method that can be used at a distance,with someone's gait being harder to obscure than facial features. Photographed in 2012
