Lobster. 19th-century artwork of the underside of a lobster named here as Astacus marinus,now known as Homarus gammarus or the common European lobster. This artwork is from 'The powers of the Creator displayed in the creation' by Scottish naturalist John Graham Dalyell (1775-1851). This three-volume work was published between 1851 and 1858,and was subtitled 'Observations on life amidst the various forms of the humbler tribes of animated nature'.
