MODEL RELEASED. Tuberculosis (TB) clinic testing. Nurse measuring the immune response to a test of a patient at a TB clinic. A skin test on the patient's left arm has been used to test for the presence of TB,an infection by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It usually infects the lungs and can cause severe scarring. TB infections can be diagnosed and treated at dedicated clinics. If the infection is not completely eradicated, then drug-resistant forms can develop. It is usually treated by a course of antibiotic drugs, often several taken in combination.
